Hello Cliff,
I have meaning to send you a note of thanks since the St. Joseph’s Grade 8 classes visited Camp Mini-Yo-We back in June. We have twin girls who attended the camp together. You may recall that I contacted you prior to the visit regarding our daughter who has spina bifida and uses a wheelchair. We discussed the accessibility of her cabin and the shower facilities. I have to tell you that both girls enjoyed themselves so much. It was the first time they have been away without us and it was such a great experience for them. As a matter of fact, all of their classmates enjoyed themselves and said the camp brought them all closer together as friends and peers. The camp was a great step towards her independence and we were so happy to see and hear that she did all of the activities and had so much fun. We couldn’t believe seeing her on the high ropes! Even the school teachers were amazed at how independent she was and how much she enjoyed herself. Our other daughter also had great fun and did very well on her first overnight outing! She learned a new appreciation for outdoor activities. Both girls would jump at the chance to return to Mini Yo We in the future.
In our conversation you had reassured me that our daughter would do everything and we want to thank you and all of the camp staff involved for making our girl’s experience so great!
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Kind regards,
VL
