"I was very impressed with the guest services staff overall - they were very attentive to our needs and made sure our stay was a positive one. Jeff (our host) did an exceptional job. I was impressed that included in the fee was 6 hours of instruction for our group. That is a huge chunk of time to commit to our kids and I appreciated that. (we didn't use it all, but I really appreciated the offer) All of the staff worked really hard for us - even little extras like popcorn for our movie, extra time on the high ropes, etc. Honestly, I was extremely impressed with every element of our weekend and will most likely book our next retreat at Mini-Yo-We. THANK YOU for making it such a positive experience." KM – Mississauga

Parent FAQ

Is this the first retreat for your child?

At the Mini-Yo-We Outdoor Centre we take great care of the children and young adults that we are entrusted with.  We take into consideration food allergies and restrictions, and are of course a peanut free facility. We have qualified and skilled instructors and numerous year-round staff.

If you have a younger boy or girl attending an overnight event (perhaps for the first time) please know that we have over forty years of experience in caring for the needs, fears and challenges of children. While activities at the Mini-Yo-We Outdoor Centre are geared for learning, teamwork and fun challenges we also know to watch for children that may be truly overwhelmed by new experiences. Please know that we are sensitive to all the children’s needs and want your child to have a great time. If you have any specific concerns you would like to speak to us about feel free to call or email.

What to pack? Sleeping bags, pillows, changes of clothing in case socks and pants get wet. Evening snacks are usually part of the overnight experience so sending extras is not required. The washrooms are in the buildings for all winterized retreats, but if you want to send a flashlight you can.

We value your trust and aim to meet your expectations of care and supervision.
